Getting Started OnlineIn the introduction, I discussed some of the questions you need to ask yourself before getting started in online marketing and before you will have a successful, online homebased business. Did you take the time to answer those questions honestly? Did you do the “pre-flight” checklist?

This is Part I of the mini-course. In this section, we will discuss a couple of business models that aspiring online marketers use. These are by no means the only models that you can use.

Even with our current economy, many people are making the leap to getting started in online marketing with their own online homebased business.

Aspiring online marketers often get confused because there are so many ways to make money online. You can take a look at just how many different opportunities there are. Some are scams, but the general feeling is that most are not scams. You can choose from making money on Ebay, MLM, Trading, and many more.

According to Jonathan Budd, “There are a million ways to make a million dollars in this industry. There are so many ways for you to be successful…it’s insane.”

Here are 2 hot opportunities on the Internet now. They are both huge and many experienced marketers agree these offer a great opportunity in online marketing.

1. Information Products Marketing – Information products are knowledge-based products that are delivered over the Internet.
 
2. Local Online Marketing – This involves providing online marketing to small local businesses.

I prefer to focus on digital information products and local online marketing because they are easy, fast and have low production costs.

I think these are the easiest and most efficient ways for getting started in online marketing, but don’t take my word for it. Many master marketers agree. Read all the information in this mini-course and do your own research. If you don’t already have a business or niche, decide if information product marketing or local online marketing is for you. If you already have a business, you can gain some insights and ideas from this information to grow your business.

Put simply, the game plan (or strategic online marketing plan) described in this mini-course is to begin by marketing other people’s information products (via affiliate marketing) or offer online services to small local businesses, while you learn marketing skills like (email marketing and building a list) and then create your own information product and learn how to market it online.

Again, there are a variety of ways to make money on the Internet. I’ve presented some money-making ideas, but I urge you to do some research to determine whether they are right for you.

In the next segment, we’ll cover the resources you need for success in online marketing.
