Exercise Your Mind!
“If you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse.” ~ Pat Riley, basketball coach
There are several ways to improve your mental acuity. According to recent research, exercise bolsters brain-nurturing chemicals by boosting circulation. This improves your reaction time, retention and creativity. Also, researchers at the University of Illinois found that individuals increased their memory by more than 15% after joining a walking program.
So, physical activity is important to maintaining a sharp mind.

Mental exercise is important. It strengthens the connections between nerve cells in the brain called synapses.
Memorization techniques also encourage the brain to work more efficiently, and they may reduce age-related memory loss, according to a Washington University study.
Richard Davidson, a neuroscientist, found that emotions play a strong role in mental acuity and that spending just 10 minutes a day focusing on feelings of love and kindness can make you happier and smarter.

Social Media Strategy
As promised, this week we will discuss LinkedIn…perhaps the definitive source for professional, educated connections. Let’s begin by explaining how you should get started in LinkedIn. Next week, we’ll cover how you can build your network.
1. Be as specific as possible when choosing the industry and expertise because people use LinkedIn for targeted marketing.
2. Take adequate time to complete your profile, and be sure to include your skills and specialties.
3. Include past education and companies, but don’t just mention what you’ve done. Write about what you have accomplished, and include facts and figures, if possible.
4. Expand on your current business and include your business url (of course).
5. Add applications to your profile. The following applications will make your profile look complete and well-thought out:
– Events
– Slide Show – to include a presentation about what you do or services you offer.
– Reading list 6. Once you are happy with your profile, do a search on keywords to see what comes up about you.

OMG! What an awesome training event! I hope some of you were able to tune in to the livestreaming training event by iLearningGlobal. The trip was well worth the time to me and Ralph (my hubby). I’ll be sharing some of the insights we gained in next week’s newsletter. Got to pack and head back home.
