This Week’s Social Media News

Social Media News for Online Marketing Success”

Have you considered hiring a social media manager? I just read an article that advises you against hiring an outsider, especially if you are active on Facebook and Twitter. I found this worth reading because the comments are from someone who makes their living as a social media manager. Here are the main points covered in, “Why You Should Manage Your Own Social Media.” The link to the article is in the social media news section below.

1. You and your employees know your business best. This intimate knowledge of the goals, objectives and pulse of the business will come through in the posts.
2. Your tweets and updates would be much more current than those previously-created in advance by a consultant. It is best for updates to be more “of-the-moment”.
3. Your staff would not be limited by contract to a set amount of content to post. They can seek out new content to update more than a consultant.
4. You can likely find someone on your staff that has a passion for both the business and social media. That passion would come through to prospects in the social media networks.

I found this perspective interesting. What do you think?

Creating a large following on Twitter is essential to being successful in using it to build targeted blog traffic. However, the process of following people and following them back can be very labor-intensive with a large following. There is a tool that can be used to get free, targeted blog traffic and automate the process that offers “everything you need to automatically grow your network and profit on autopilot.” The tool is called TweetAdder.
